2nd International Conference on Information Technology (ICIT 2010) and 8th National Conference on Information Technology. Conference web-site: http://www.it2010.gda.pl/ Conference venue: Gdańsk University of Technology, Gdańsk, Poland, June 28-30, 2010 Information Technology is currently the driving force behind the advance of information societies and knowledge-based economies. New scientific disciplines and new professions appear, new areas of industry develop, interdisciplinary scientific projects are undertaken. The European Union, provides abundant financial support for the development of information technologies; special research programs have been funded for a number of years. Poland must aspire to equal the best. We should engage in comprehensive programs to educate students in new technology disciplines. We must strive to achieve tighter linkage between industry expectations and scientific research leading to commercial applications. We must aim to transform our colleges, including the Gdańsk University of Technology, into technical universities of the XXI century. The objective of the conference INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY is to create a platform for integration of scientific institutions and industry enterprises. We hope that the Conference will become an open forum for exchanging ideas, and that it will provide encouragement for projects in which both research and commercial enterprises will partake, boosting enterpreneurship and innovation. |
