24th International Conference on Liquid Crystals ICLC2012 PDF Print E-mail

Conference web-site: http://www.ilcc2012.de/

Conference venue: Mainz, Germany, August 18-24, 2012

The mission of this biannual conference is to bring together the scientific community working in the interdisciplinary field of Liquid Crystals, or mesophases in the broader sense. This community ranges from classical synthetic chemistry to theoretical physics, from structural biology to engineering applications, and is linked by the interest in various aspects of soft matter. Liquid Crystals are nowadays almost omnipresent in many, very different fields of science and this conference will provide a common platform for demonstrating and discussing new developments.

Topics of the ILCC 2012:

1. Liquid crystal phases, structures and ordering
 2. Theory, simulations and modeling
 3. Pattern formation and dynamics
 4. Symmetry, chiralty and polarity
 5. Molecular design, synthesis and new materials
 6. Discotic liquid crystals
 7. Bent core liquid crystals
 8. Liquid crystalline polymers and elastomers
 9. Colloidal and lyotropic liquid crystals
 10. Liquid crystalline ordering in biological systems
 11. Surfaces and confined systems
 12. Liquid crystal nanocomposites
 13. Liquid crystals in electrooptics and display applications
 14. Liquid crystals in opto-electronics and photonics
