Depolarization of circularly polarized light in birefringent crystal
AbstractIn the paper we consider a depolarization phenomenon of light with partial temporal coherence and circular state of polarization passing through birefringent medium. In order to describe degree of polarization changes of light passing through birefringent crystal we use the Mueller Stokes matrix formalism extended by additional depolarization matrix. Results of experimental tests of theoretical predictions are presented as well.
