Abstract

Bright conical laser emission from a dye doped cholesteric liquid crystal is obtained. The emission refers to the type of the strong cone-shaped lasing in the spectral region of the dye luminescence maximum recently reported by the authors (https://doi.org/10.1364/OL.532553). It has been shown that such emission is not an exclusive property of the specific violet-blue dyes, but can also be observed in the green part of spectrum using a commonly available dye. Also, unlike the previous case, it is shown that the conical lasing is strictly distributed over the spectrum depending on the angle of the cone, and the lasing peaks are significantly narrower.
