The Optoelectronic Department at the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, Poland was organising the scientific international conference, which took place on 28th February to 5th March 2011, on: Integrated Optics - Sensors, Sensing Structures and Methods, IOS’2011.

The Conference will be ogranized in Szczyrk, in Beskidy Mountains in Poland, in real winter scenery.

The co-Organizers of the Conference are the Committee of Electronics and Telecommunication of Polish Academy of Sciences, Photonic Society of Poland and Upper Silesian Division of the Polish Acoustical Society.

Honorary Patronage on the Conference is taken by Professor Wiesław Woliński – Real Member of Polish Academy of Sciences and Professor Andrzej Karbownik - Rector of The Silesian University of Technology.

The main goal of the Conference is to exchange knowledge in the scope of practical applications of integrated optics. The aim of the Conference is presentation of experiences in the field of technology and theoretical analysis of optoelectronic sensors and the practical applications of sensing structures and the systems as well as new methods in the field of metrology.

The Conference contributes to amplify relations between scientific groups and to enable the intensification of common cooperation for the development of practical optoelectronics.

OPTO Meeting For Young Researchers PDF Print E-mail

Conference web-site: http://osa.fizyka.umk.pl/OPTO/

Conference venue: Institute of Physics, Nicolaus Copernicus University, ul. Grudziadzka 5, Torun, Poland, May 11- 14, 2011.

We continue tradition of SPIE Meeting started in Wroclaw in 2006. Each year, more and more participants from a number of countries are attracted by a chance of visiting Torun sharing knowledge.
The aim of the conference is to encourage young people to exchange scientific experience, to make new contacts widening their personal network. Invited lectures, seminars, workshops and posters will cover all branches of optics e.g. quantum optics, optical imaging, light sources or medical applications. Finally what is the most important conference is held in a friendly atmosphere of young people gives an opportunity for new friendships and for developing interpersonal skills in giving presentations.

Conference venue: Sorea Máj Hotel, Liptovský Ján, Slovakia, 6 - 10 September 2010

The conference is a continuation of a series of regular meetings of Czech, Slovak and Polish optical communities started in Rusava (the Czech Republic), in 1972. After a short interruption between 1980’s and 1990’s, the meetings have grown to conferences under the name "Wave and quantum aspects of contemporary optics". For over 30 years, the conference organized biannually in turn in Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Poland has become a place to exchange knowledge on the latests optical research, to meet friends and co-workers including new young scientistis.

The 17th conference is organized by the Department of Engineering Fundamentals, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Žilina, Slovakia and by the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics, Comenius University, Bratislava, Slovakia.

2nd International Conference on Information Technology ICIT 2010 PDF Print E-mail

2nd International Conference on Information Technology (ICIT 2010) and 8th National Conference on Information Technology.

Conference web-site: http://www.it2010.gda.pl/

Conference venue:  Gdańsk University of Technology, Gdańsk, Poland, June 28-30, 2010

Information Technology is currently the driving force behind the advance of information societies and knowledge-based economies. New scientific disciplines and new professions appear, new areas of industry develop, interdisciplinary scientific projects are undertaken. The European Union, provides abundant financial support for the development of information technologies; special research programs have been funded for a number of years.

Poland must aspire to equal the best. We should engage in comprehensive programs to educate students in new technology disciplines. We must strive to achieve tighter linkage between industry expectations and scientific research leading to commercial applications. We must aim to transform our colleges, including the Gdańsk University of Technology, into technical universities of the XXI century.

The objective of the conference INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY is to create a platform for integration of scientific institutions and industry enterprises. We hope that the Conference will become an open forum for exchanging ideas, and that it will provide encouragement for projects in which both research and commercial enterprises will partake, boosting enterpreneurship and innovation.
